Eliza Kingsford, LPC is changing the conversation around healthy weight loss and weight maintenance  with a refreshing emphasis on positive body image, self-compassion and sustainable solutions. 

She is the author of Brain-Powered Weight Loss and has been featured on CNN, Dr. Phil, Dr. Oz, WebMD, Shape Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Health, Healthline, Mental Health Weekly, Parade Magazine and others.

She is a licensed psychotherapist, Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor specializing in evidence-based clinical and therapeutic weight loss and weight management programs.

Her evidence-based approach emphasizes the role of the brain/weight equation and the neurological connections that link thoughts, feelings, actions, behaviors and weight. It reflects extensive professional experience in the outpatient treatment of overweight and obesity, includes dysfunctional eating behaviors ranging from emotional eating to food cravings, stress eating, disordered eating and eating disorders.

It also incorporates the findings of her collaborations and mentoring with leading health scientists on the most effective strategies and treatments for obesity, overweight, weight loss and weight management, food addiction and emotional eating.

Eliza emphasizes that weight is the result of a complex network of factors. She replaces outdated, simplistic “eat less, move more” advice with a biopsychosocial approach to health, happiness and weight. Even more important: it's an approach that empowers participants through practical evidence-based life skills and daily habits proven to help people achieve and sustain their goals.

The result is an approach that’s right for anyone who’s ever wanted to reach and maintain their best weight – the weight they’re happiest and healthiest at – and feel great about themselves regardless of the number on the scale.

Eliza received her masters’ degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Colorado and previously served as executive director and clinical director for several well-known therapeutic weight management programs, leading the clinical redesign of a major national adolescent and teen weight loss camp curriculum to reflect the latest science regarding the treatment of obesity and overweight in teens and young adults.
